San Bernardino Superior Court Selects New Commissioner
News Release
SAN BERNARDINO, CA— San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) is pleased to announce the selection of Benjamin Lechman as its newest commissioner. Mr. Lechman will assume his assignment on October 19, 2026, filling the vacancy created by Commissioner Acker.
Prior to his selection, Mr. Lechman served as managing partner of the Law Offices of Benjamin P. Lechman, where he handled criminal matters in state and federal courts. Before entering private practice, he served as a trial attorney with Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc., handling federal criminal cases, supervising attorneys, and providing training on federal criminal practice.
Mr. Lechman earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.
“We are pleased to welcome Commissioner Lechman to the bench and look forward to the experience, professionalism, and dedication he will bring to serving the community of San Bernardino County,” said Presiding Judge Rod Cortez.
