Probate Notes
Probate Notes are available through the Court Access Portal (CAP).
This section provides information and links to view probate notes for matters on the court's calendar. Probate notes will be available two weeks before your hearing and for 7 days after the hearing. Be sure to print or save the notes for future reference. For help accessing your notes, click here.
Email Probate Notes Questions
If you have a question about probate notes, your email should include:
- Subject Line: Include the hearing date, department, case number, and case caption (Example: 02-06-2018, S37, PROPS123456, SMITH)
- Message: Include your name in the email.
- No Attachments: Do not include attachments.
Probate Notes Email Guidelines:
- Only attorneys or parties on the case can send questions.
- This email is not for confirming if a document has been filed with the court.
- Disputes about the requirements in the notes cannot be made by email.
- We cannot give specific advice about how to fix issues in the probate notes.
- This email service is not meant to replace legal advice.
- You can email the court about possible mistakes, but you cannot send responses or attachments to the probate notes by email.
The court will do its best to respond to email questions.
Viewing and Downloading Probate Notes
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these documents. If you do not have it, you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader here.
Directions for Downloading and Viewing Probate Notes:
- Follow the instructions on Adobe’s website to install and set up Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Once installed, you can view any of the documents by clicking on the file name from the list.
TIP: To open probate notes in a new window, right-click the file name and select "Open in New Window."
Finding a Case in Probate Notes:
Please note: These directions are for Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.01 or greater.
- To find the notes for your case, you need the case number.
- In Adobe Acrobat Reader, click the Binocular icon (Find button).
- In the “Find What” box, type the probate case number (e.g., SPR 12345).
- Click match whole word only and then Find.
Alternatively, you can:
- Hold the Ctrl key and press the F key to open the Find box.
- Type in your case number to go directly to your case.
When Are Probate Notes Available?
Probate notes will be posted about 2 weeks before the hearing and will be available 7 days after the hearing day. Updates are usually posted 3 court days before the hearing. If documents are filed late, they may not be reviewed before the hearing and could cause your case to be continued.
Important Note: These probate notes are provided as a courtesy. The court works hard to ensure the accuracy of the information on the website, but it is not responsible for any delays, errors, or missing information. The official court document is the one filed with the court. If you have questions about the document, contact the Probate Unit of the Clerk's Office at (909) 521-3388.
Contacting the Probate Examiners
If you need to contact the Probate Examiners by email, make sure to include your case details and the hearing date/time in the subject line. No attachments will be opened. Probate Examiners can only help you understand the comments in the probate notes.

Please do not email to:
- Let them know that documents have been filed
- Ask if documents have been received
- Ask for help to clear any probate notes
- Ask for legal or procedural advice (they cannot give this in emails)
Contacting the Research Attorneys
Email service is not available for cases that are sent to Legal Research. Research Attorneys do not respond to emails.
