SBSC Announces Service Enhancements Impacting Rancho Cucamonga, Victorville, Joshua Tree, & San Bernardino

SBSC ANNOUNCES SERVICE ENHANCEMENTS IMPACTING RANCHO CUCAMONGA, VICTORVILLE, JOSHUA TREE, AND SAN BERNARDINO

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Effective March 9, 2026, the San Bernardino Superior Court will make several enhancements to its services in alignment with the court’s commitment to providing the right services in the right places. These service enhancements include:

  1. All new felony and misdemeanor Proposition 36 eligible cases will be assigned to the newly established designated courtrooms. Proposition 36, which passed in 2024, allowed for specific qualifying offenses to be offered alternatives to incarceration. Below are the newly established courtrooms where Proposition 36 related cases will be heard:
  • San Bernardino Justice Center: S16 will serve as a dedicated Proposition 36 courtroom.
  • Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse: R11, where Collaborative Court cases are currently heard, will add a unified Proposition 36 calendar.
  • Joshua Tree: M2 will be the designated courtroom where all Proposition 36 cases will be calendared.
  • The following collaborative court calendars currently assigned to Rancho Cucamonga will be reassigned to the San Bernardino Justice Center to support program alignment and ensure continuity of services:
    • Redlands Drug Court—currently heard Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.
    • P.R.I.D.E.—currently heard Thursdays at 11:00 a.m.
    • San Bernardino Drug Court—currently heard Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.
  • Existing Proposition 36 cases will remain in their assigned courtrooms.
  1. Hearings for Writs of Habeas Corpus will be relocated from the San Bernardino Justice Center to Department R19 at the Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse located at 8303 Haven Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. Filings and documents will remain at the San Bernardino Justice Center Criminal Clerk’s office located at 247 West Third Street, San Bernardino, CA 92415.
  1. Victorville Courthouse is adding a Civil courtroom to the district for a total of two civil courtrooms to continue addressing the needs of the high desert.

These enhancements align with the court’s 2025-2028 strategic plan objective of ensuring the right services are in the right places, by enhancing the coordination of resources and promoting consistent practices across all participating districts. For additional information,
