Release Date: December 22, 2025
SAN BERNARDINO, CA— On December 22, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom announced the appointment of Kevin Lee to serve as a judge in the San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC).
The Governor’s office released the following statements:
“Kevin Lee, of San Bernardino County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the San Bernardino County Superior Court. Lee has served as a Deputy Public Defender at the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office since 2013. He served as a Law Clerk at the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office from 2012 to 2013. Lee received a Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University School of Law. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David S. Cohn.”
“The appointment of Mr. Lee is a welcome addition to the San Bernardino Bench, and we are thankful for this appointment,” said Presiding Judge Lisa M. Rogan.
SBSC has two judicial vacancies and an assessed overall need of 27 additional judicial officers. Fulfilling this need is critical to restoring public confidence in the judicial system and expanding access to justice.
