Release Date: SEPTEMBER 22, 2025

SAN BERNARDINO, CA On September 18, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom announced the appointment of Elizabeth Ulsh to serve as a judge in the San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC).

The Governor’s office released the following statements:

Elizabeth Ulsh, of San Bernardino County, has been appointed to serve as a Judge in the San Bernardino County Superior Court. Ulsh has served as a Deputy Public Defender at the San Bernardino Public Defender’s Office since 2014. Ulsh received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Bridgid M. McCann.

“The appointment of Elizabeth Ulsh is a welcome addition to the San Bernardino Bench, and we are grateful for this appointment,” said Presiding Judge Lisa M. Rogan.

SBSC has two judicial vacancies and an assessed overall need of 27 additional judicial officers. Fulfilling this need is critical to restoring public confidence in the judicial system and expanding access to justice.
