SAN BERNARDINO, CA—The San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) celebrated a milestone in its commitment to access and innovation with the unveiling of its new Court Community Vehicle on October 9, 2025.

The 30-foot mobile courtroom, a converted Thor Hurricane RV, is designed to bring court services directly into communities across the largest county in the nation, reducing barriers for residents who live far from traditional courthouses.

Presiding Judge Lisa Rogan, who first envisioned the project, shared that the initiative is rooted in the Court’s ongoing mission to make justice more accessible to all.

“If they cannot come to us, we will go to them,” said Judge Rogan.

The unveiling event brought together justice partners, community partners, and stakeholders to witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour the newly equipped vehicle, which features two workstations, a clerk’s desk, and technology that enables real-time access to court operations.

Court Executive Officer Anabel Z. Romero praised the collaborative effort that made the project possible. “This initiative reflects the best of who we are as a Court, innovative, collaborative, and deeply committed to public service.”

The Court Community Vehicle will serve multiple roles:

  • A mobile courtroom for judicial hearings.

  • A community outreach hub for civic education and Self-Help services.

  • Emergency operations post during disasters or crises.

The initiative directly aligns with the Court’s Strategic Plan goals of placing “The Right Services in the Right Places” and fostering a “Culture of Innovation, Modernization, and Improvement.”

Operational planning is underway to establish a deployment schedule and staffing model that will allow the vehicle to rotate between districts and visit rural areas on a recurring basis.

“With every mile this vehicle travels, we are bringing the promise of justice closer to home,” said Judge Rogan. “It is a tangible example of how we can innovate to serve our communities better.”
