Civil Mandatory Settlement Conference Week Begins October 19, 2026

NEWS RELEASE

RELEASE DATE: July 7, 2026

SAN BERNARDINO, CA— The San Bernardino Superior Court (SBSC) is pleased to announce the return of Civil Mandatory Settlement Conference Week on October 19, 2026.

Civil Mandatory Settlement Conference Week seeks to assist litigants with resolving their civil cases before trial. In partnership with volunteer attorneys serving as mediators throughout the county, SBSC will set settlement conferences during this week-long event. Settlement conferences are an excellent alternative to trial and allow all parties to reach a mutually beneficial resolution in a timely manner.

Should your case be selected to participate, the following requirements must be met:

  • Briefs must be submitted five (5) days prior to each scheduled settlement conference and must be filed in the department
  • All parties with settlement authority must be present (i.e., plaintiff, counsel, insurance company representatives, etc.)
  • All discovery must be completed prior to settlement conference
  • At least one party to the action must be represented by counsel in order to participate.

Interested in becoming a volunteer attorney to serve as a mediator? See the information listed below or view the attached flyer for more details.
