Civil Motion Reservation

The San Bernardino Superior Court offers an easy way to request motion dates for civil cases online. If your case is in San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, or Victorville, you can request a motion date by sending an email to one of these addresses:

San Bernardino Justice Center: SBJC-CivilMotionReservationRequests@sb-court.org

Victorville: VV-CivilMotionReservationRequests@sb-court.org

Rancho Cucamonga: Rancho-CivilMotionReservationRequests@sb-court.org

Make sure to include the following information in your email:

  1. The full title of the motion (example: Motion to Compel Initial Response or Motion to Compel Further Response).
  2. At least three possible dates, and they must be at least three weeks away.
  3. The full case number.
  4. Your contact information.
  5. The name of the person bringing the motion and their contact details.

Important Rules:

  • Motion dates can only be reserved Monday through Thursday.
  • You will get a response within 72 hours after sending your email.
  • After receiving the confirmation email, you must file your motion and pay the filing fees within five court days. If you don’t, your reservation will be automatically canceled, following Local Rule 520.

Exceptions:

  • Motions for Summary Judgment or Summary Adjudication.
  • Motions for Sanctions or Attorney Fees under Section 128.7.
